Greendale’s Complete Phase I Refurbishment Works to  The Pavilion

Greendale Construction have completed Phase I of the refurbishment works to the Pavilion Theatre on behalf of Bournemouth Borough Council.  The total cost of the refurbishment project was £300,000 for Greendale Construction Limited.

The works carried out by Greendale Construction has included:-
Refurbishment to the original terrazzo floor at the main entrance and to the staircases.  The flooring has now been bought back to its original condition by Greendale Construction and their team.

All of the lighting at the theatre has been completely removed, re-glazed to the original style.  In keeping with the environment the lights have been re-lamped with low energy light bulbs.

The Auditorium seating was completely removed, this has now all been renovated and reupholstered with sumptuous velvet and fixed back into position.

There are new floor finishes to auditorium and side corridors which are now fitted with bespoke carpet in keeping with the original carpets.

The ground floor and the first floor circle toilets (for male and female) have also been completely refurbished with the original penny slots kept on the new doors (which the public used to use to ‘spend a penny’ during the interval) have also been kept as a reminder of the era.

“States Chris Kane, This has been a superb project for Greendale Construction and we have all enjoyed working on this refurbishment project with Bournemouth Borough Council.  It is wonderful to see the theatre being brought back to its original grandeur.  The Pavilion Theatre is a famous landmark on the theatrical circuit and is much loved in the local area by people of all age groups.  Everyone has a story or fond memory of something that took place at the theatre and I am sure the theatre has plenty of stories of its own to tell.  We are proud to be associated with this project”
