Greendale work out at the West Hants Club

Local construction firm complete £500,000-plus expansion at The West Hants Club

Members at the prestigious West Hants Club in Bournemouth are enjoying a newly refurbished and expanded club after the completion of work costing more than half a million pounds.

Poole based Greendale Construction Ltd were awarded the design and build contract at the 3,000-member club in Roslin Road South, Bournemouth this summer and finished this month (NOVEMBER). Working with local designer Stewart Jones and architect Denley King they have created an entirely new red brick building, seamlessly integrated into the old building, containing the following:

• A luxurious new fully air conditioned adult ladies changing area featuring walnut floors and cupboards, glass surround showers with natural stone floor and tiled walls.
• An holistic area on the ground floor with reception area and three treatment rooms, featuring all organic products including Dr Hanuscha and offering a full range of holistic skincare and other beauty treatments
• A purpose-built consultation room for inductions and fitness testing
• An expanded gym with approximately 50 per cent more top of the range cardio equipment

Peter Elviss, Chief Executive of The West Hants Club, said: “This is the second time Greendale Construction have carried out work at the club and just like the first time around they have been excellent to deal with throughout, working to budget and completing the project on time with the least disruption possible to members which was always our main concern – they are a professional team.”

The West Hants Club has been established since 1926 and is one of the UK’s leading tennis clubs with other additional facilities including squash courts, a state-of-the-art gym and aerobic studios, swimming pool, crèche, restaurant and bar.
